NEW EXHIBITION: THE FASHION WORLD OF JEAN PAUL GAULTIER

Gaultier-mania has hit Stockholm with the opening of THE FASHION WORLD OF JEAN PAUL GAULTIER: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk, the first international exhibition devoted to the celebrated French couturier.

We spent the day with Jean Paul Gaultier himself and the curator of the show, gorgeous former top model Thierry-Maxime Loriot at the Swedish Center for Architecture and Design.

After a very candid chat with the iconic designer we got a sneak preview of this major exhibition, which features more than 120 ensembles – like Madonna- and Lady Gaga stage costumes – along with video and completely new photographs presented in a very fashion forward, hi-tech way with ‘living mannequins’.

Gaultier’s has always been about openness and pushing the boundaries of what’s considered beautiful, and this exhibition – bringing couture to the masses – does just that. More on this exhibition in the August issue.

TLC oddity show My Crazy Obsession shows gay, Florida native Eric Ducharme living as a male mermaid – and looks real good doing so.

SKARSGÅRD INVASION. Alex returns in True Blood’s new season, Gustav is in HBO’s Vikings – and in Dorian’s Spring Issue – and now 22-year-old Bill is in Netflix’ horror show Hemlock Grove, airing in April.

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMM. One of our favourite actors, Jeremy Irons, has causes a stir after comparing gay marriage to incest, in a Huff Post interview.

GAY LOVE TRIANGLE. The case of Hollywood actress Natalie Wood mysteriously drowning 30 years ago, during a yacht ride with actors Christopher Walken and husband Robert Wagner, is reopened.

What looks like a maj, gay, 3-D extravaganza, The Great Gatsby, opens the Cannes Film Festival in May.

PHOTOSHOP DISASTER. The wax doll(?) that Harper’s Bazaar China put on the cover, resembles Sarah Jessica Parker.

FASHION EQUALITY. Season gazillion of reality modeling contest America’s Next Top Model, is sprucing up the show concept by including men. We like Marvin.

While we don’t condone celeb obesity in general (minus Adele), we do love a Pygmalion moment. Enter 51-year-old Boy George, who unveiled a dramatic weight loss, during a recent gala. The new look is attributed to a weight loss program (yeah, right).

Mariah (S)Carey offers the catchy mid-tempo ballad Almost There from Disney’s upcoming James Franco-orgy aka Oz. The Great and the Powerful.

The wonderful role models Rihanna and Kate Moss (ahem) are lezzing it up for V Magazine in a shoot by Mario Testino.

Beyonce‘s HBO documentary snooze-fest deals with the controversy that surrounded her miscarriage, relationship with her father and “putting more of herself into her art”.

Celine Dion slays it (as ususal) singing in Mandarin during a Chinese New Year concert.

GAY OUTRAGE. Germanys entry to Eurovision Song Contest, the cheezy disco act Cascada, are accused of ripping off last years winner, Loreen.

SWAG! The awards season is upon us and because the rich and famous need loads of free stuff, BRIT Awards celebrities got a goody bag worth $3000. Surely, The Oscar‘s can top that?

VERSACE EROS LAUNCH

We we’re greeted by Eros himself, in beatiful private residence which was turned into a virtual garden of eden to serve as backdrop for the Swedish launch of Versace‘s first new male fragrance since 2009.

Versace’s PR manager Giovanna Squicciarini told us about the making of the fragrance during during a lavish lunch that seduced our senses.

The retro chic fragrance – created by “super perfumer” Aurelién Guichard – combines fresh citrus, mint, apple with sensual notes like tonka beans, oak moss and amber to be a surefire hit with everyone in touch with their sexuality. The fragrance wont disappear, like a bad one night stand, but instead hang around and spend quality time with you in bed.

Eros is fronted by hot US model Brian Schimansky, whom you recognize from the pages of Dorian. The campaign is shot in London by high profile photo duo Mert & Marcus. The Eros collection launches in March (Scandinavia).

BROTHERS & THE TAILORING CLUB SS13

Swedish clothing brand Brothers‘ and their tailored division The Tailoring Club, spear headed by designer Magnus Hultin, held a meat-y, press luncheon for the spring collection, in which hitech materials, mesh, glued seams and functionality, like an iPhonepocket added modern appeal to the everyday suit, especially in the new travel line. Other news were white selvage jeans. Brother’s spring ads feature Brad Kroenig holding a Porteur bike, a brand Brothers will initiate a collaboration with.

SUPERGAY. Another comic-hero is about to leave the closet, a “major character” which could be Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman or someone else, as DC Comic recently announced.

SMELLS LIKE OLYMPIC. Giorgio Armani has given us the opportunity to get us into the olympic feeling with this fragrance called Athlete that has been inspired by the energy and endurance of the top athletes.

I DO. As previously reported, a character called Northstar from Marvel’s X-Men will propose to his boyfriend Kyle in the issue that is released today. The couple also adorns the cover.
