FASHION EVENT SEASON
It truly is the festive season with a virtual explosion of lovely fashion events. A few favourites has been the intimate dinner with Spalt PR and german, urban fashion brand New Yorker at F12 and Thomas Hägg’s Dockers flagship store opening at PK-Huset – making a wonderful addition to the department store’s offer.
RMPR hosted J Lindeberg‘s new coffee table photo book launch aswell as a lavish evening for Swedish suit masters Cavaliere with master chef Gert Klötzke, at Stockholm’s historical Skansen, where we learned about the brand’s advanced skills and the spring collection; slim silouettes in a sea of blue hues, contrasted by crisp white, coloured pinstripes or a lot of checkered fabrics – silk, wool or jersey – all from iconic fabric makers Loro Piana and Cerruti – and always with a coloured pocket square! We were also fortunate enough to create our own suit jacket, before we all helped make dinner. It was hilarous to see ten top fashion individuals trying to execute Gert Klötzke’s instructions. The outcome was a delicious three course triumph with hand made sausage, perfectly cooked duck breast and panna cotta. Klick image for gallery.

STOCKHOLM SS/12 PRESS DAYS ROUNDUP
So ended another rain- and champagne-filled press week where a multitude of agencys showed off the upcoming SS12 collections. And what collections – prepare for an abundance of inspired color- and texture clashes in the menswear that – magnificently styled and beautifully shot – will end up in the pages of DORIAN Magazine – aswell as womenswear(!) in our new, mixed fashion magazine: PK Magazine (launching 24 november).
Congratulations to JUNG, G-STAR and MODIN/ÅKERLIND for their new stylish offices, to SPALT for 15 successful years, and huge thanks to RMPR, SCANDINAVIAN PRESSROOM, RED & SQUARE, POLHEM and THOMAS HÄGG for inspiration.

TRIWA A/W 11: ADDING COLOUR
Swedish watch brand Triwa has spearheaded the return of the colourful, plastic watch trend, allowing everyone to add colour to an outfit and use the watch as an accessory.
For the A/W11 collection, Triwa opted to skip conservative advertising and opted for art instead as focus for the communication. Talanded photoartist Fredrik Öhman was chosen to create campaign/collection images, consisting of artfully surrealistic morphed animal portraits inspired by the colorful watch collection. The portraits were exhibited today at the gorgeous space Jonas Kleerup Gallery.

PRESS LUNCH FOR NEW RETAIL SPACE MOOD
Today we put on our hard hat and visited the press lunch for Stockholms latest shopping space MOOD. Described as a ‘village within a village’ the mall offers premium retailers with exciting, edgier retail brands as well as Michelin starred restaurants, spread over three levels over an entire block near department stores NK, PK-Huset and Sturegallerian. Among the innovative interior design features, developed by agency Koncept, there will be light, sound and art installations, an interior garden with treehouses for meetings(!), and exclusive conciérge services such as dog cleaning and valet parking. The public will be able to enjoy the 325 million sek ‘village’ in march 2012.
AMF Properties and the visionary marketing director Jonas Sandström are responsible for the project.

DAY+SAND S/S 12: CASUAL CHIC
Today I viewed S/S12 collections from danish brands DAY Birger et Mikkelsen and Sand.
We all know danish guys are sexy troublemakers, which is emphasized in the image advertising for the summer collection, in which ten different guys have been selected to communicate the brand. They’re musicians, designers, DJs or actors, shot wearing a self-styled outfit. Day has had a tough time establishing itself in Sweden, but things are about to change, as more and more guys appreciate their scandinavian, casual style, with an international bohemian edge. Sweaters in Kashmere blend around 1200 sek.
Sand’s SS12 collection is a very blue, summery vision in soft materials, such as linen and silk, for young gentlemen who like an italian classic look with scandinavian flair.

GOURMET CRUISE PRESS LUNCHEON
Gourmet cruises on the Baltic sea has become quite popular. Cruise line Tallink–Silja hosted a tasting of its fall 2011 fine dining signature menu, for media gourmets such as ourselves (well, ok: gourmands).
We enjoyed a decadent seven course menu personally introduced by the responsible chefs and sommeliers with focus on wonderful scandinavian seasonal produce; langoustines, chanterelles, reindeer, truffle, jerusalem artichokes, elk and sole. The menu was developed together with wine house Bottega making food and drink a perfect match.
The seven course menu includes wine and is extremely affordable at 1100 sek – almost half of regular Stockholm price, making it highly recommended.
The menu is served until january 2012.

LJUNG S/S 2012: PRIMARY COLOR LOVE
Young swedish brand Ljung excels in the segment between casual/jeans-wear and classic suits with another sharp collection. Proving himself to be no one-trick-fashion-pony, designer Marcus Larsson has toned down pop colors and graphic patterns that made tweed blazers, jackets and scoop neck t-shirts to ‘fly off the shelves’ and instead indulges in exclusive Cottons, Kashmere blends and Silk, spoiling us with slick garments in contrasting dark- and by primary color shades, at a very modest pricepoint, (sweaters around 1000 sek)!
