Swedish clothing brand Brothers‘ and their tailored division The Tailoring Club, spear headed by designer Magnus Hultin, held a meat-y, press luncheon for the spring collection, in which hitech materials, mesh, glued seams and functionality, like an iPhonepocket added modern appeal to the everyday suit, especially in the new travel line. Other news were white selvage jeans. Brother’s spring ads feature Brad Kroenig holding a Porteur bike, a brand Brothers will initiate a collaboration with.

Sephora

SEPHORA STORE OPENING

Beauty conscious gays will flock to the first Swedish installment of leading french beauty retailer Sephora, to snap up their favourite exclusive cosmeceuticals, makeup and those hard-to-find fragrances. The first shiny boutique is located in a mall outside of Stockholm, but there’s a city center flagship store and more locations on the horizon.

Sephora was founded in the 70s and is now owned by luxury conglomerate Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy Group.

My personal favourites are the glossy Hyaluronic- and Alguronic acid packed products from cosmeceutical brands Rexaline and Algenist.

TV: DORIAN WITH JEDWARD AT STOCKHOLM PRIDE

Inernational gay lifestyle channel OUT TV followed Dorian’s editor in chief, Benjamin, and creative director Jake, during a hectic day in The Next Coming Out, airing on OUT TV today. A huge GLBT crowd gathered in the beautiful weather, leading up to a big concert headlined by the extremely energetic Jedward twins and Swedish Eurovision winner Loreen.

BERNS HOTEL COCKTAIL CLUB LAUNCH

A brave crowd of journalists huddled together in the unfriendly weather on the secluded roof top at chic Stockholm boutique hotel Berns, for the opening of the highly anticipated cocktail club – a virtual oasis and one of Stockholms hot tickets this summer. Who doesn’t enjoy sipping Gin- and Pisco(trend alert!) based drinks by bar manager Freddie, looking down on people?

But posers beware – it’s members only, so You need to stay at the hotel to get access – or befriend one of the rare few hipsters who’ve been given the desireable pass.

MARNI AT H&M PREVIEW

Rounding off a number of hectic fashion showroom visits was a lovely preview of the playful and elegant Marni at H&M collection, at H&Ms Stockholm office. The collection launches March 8 and is both charming and affordable with great value for money.

FASHION EVENT SEASON

It truly is the festive season with a virtual explosion of lovely fashion events. A few favourites has been the intimate dinner with Spalt PR and german, urban fashion brand New Yorker at F12 and Thomas Hägg’s Dockers flagship store opening at PK-Huset – making a wonderful addition to the department store’s offer.

RMPR hosted J Lindeberg‘s new coffee table photo book launch aswell as a lavish evening for Swedish suit masters Cavaliere with master chef Gert Klötzke, at Stockholm’s historical Skansen, where we learned about the brand’s advanced skills and the spring collection; slim silouettes in a sea of blue hues, contrasted by crisp white, coloured pinstripes or a lot of checkered fabrics – silk, wool or jersey – all from iconic fabric makers Loro Piana and Cerruti – and always with a coloured pocket square! We were also fortunate enough to create our own suit jacket, before we all helped make dinner. It was hilarous to see ten top fashion individuals trying to execute Gert Klötzke’s instructions. The outcome was a delicious three course triumph with hand made sausage, perfectly cooked duck breast and panna cotta. Klick image for gallery.
